Musica

2011 | interactive

Music is one of the most important aspects of our culture. Since the dawn of time, man has played music. Everyone listens to it, and there are more genres than anyone can count. For most people, however, music remains a purely passive experience. Instruments are costly, and learning to play requires a lot of time and effort. And in addition to the instrument itself, you have to learn the music itself. Intervals, chords, rhythms.

Musica is meant to be an educational toy for anyone who wants to explore the harmonic aspects of music. It allows the user to build their own chords out of single notes and with the chords they made, they can make their own chord progressions.

This project was realized in my 3rd semester in the class Information and Communication using Processing, a Java-based programming environment.
